Fighting Hunger &

Feeding Hope

Hunger Crush Cafe is a vibrant, inviting eatery in Waterpoint Marina on Lake Conroe, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner seven days per week.

Local owners Mike and Mary Kelton have created a fun, vibrant space for community gatherings focusing on giving back, with a portion of sales donated to the Montgomery County Food Bank.

We offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, gorgeous lake views, friendly service, and all your favorite American comfort food paired with an exciting, slightly eclectic twist on classic dishes!

All about

Our History

When Waterpoint Marina’s landlord approached owners Mike and Mary in hopes that they would bring a new restaurant to the lakeside development, he had only one stipulation: they had to serve breakfast.

The cafe opened for business in mid-2022 with a unique concept Mike created from the ground up, focused on community. In addition to donating a portion of sales to feed the hungry, the restaurant features a large communal table with a No-Phone Zone that encourages people to put away their cell phones and visit with each other.

The vibrant, fresh interiors give the space a casual, contemporary feel, with splashes of color and textures from floor tiles to brick walls and attractive pendant lighting.

The Keltons’ appreciation for social media-worthy backstories inspired them to commission Conroe-area artist Jodi “Shen” Goldman-Hallford. Her playful art installation fills an entire wall in the cafe with bright colors and images of the lake’s iconic lighthouses, nearby pine forests, and families at play.

In the Community

Hunger Crush Cafe is crushing hunger in the community one meal at a time to benefit the Montgomery County Food Bank!

A portion of the cafe’s sales from its Hunger Boards — indulgent, family-style meals served on a large wooden platter — are donated to the food bank.

“It’s very important to Mary and I to give back to the community we live and work in,” said Mike Kelton. “The food bank plays a very important role in addressing and resolving food insecurity to so many.”
